We are proud to offer Community Residential Alternative (CRA) services through the NOW/COMP waiver, providing safe and nurturing homes throughout Georgia. With the support of our skilled Registered Nurse (RN), we are fully equipped to address complex medical and behavioral challenges, ensuring each individual’s needs are met with the highest standard of care.
Our services go beyond residential care. Shields Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of the individuals we serve by offering:
- Behavioral Support Management: Our team includes highly qualified Level 1 and Level 2 Behavioral Support Providers who specialize in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and developing personalized behavior intervention plans. We utilize evidence-based approaches to address challenging behaviors and help individuals build essential coping and social skills. With additional/enhancing staff holding Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) credentials, we ensure a high level of expertise and support for every client. - Supported Employment: We believe in the power of work to transform lives. Our program helps individuals develop job readiness, computer, and interview skills through workshops and one-on-one coaching. With the help of dedicated job coaches, we support our clients in finding and retaining meaningful employment in their communities.
- Community Access (Group and Individual): We promote community engagement through dynamic and fun activities that encourage social connections and personal growth. Our day program is designed not only to provide skills and opportunities but also to ensure participants have a fantastic time while building their confidence.
- Transportation Services: We understand that accessibility is key to delivering exceptional care. Shields Foundation provides reliable transportation to support our services, ensuring individuals can attend medical appointments, employment opportunities, day programs, and community engagement activities with ease and convenience.

At Shields Foundation Georgia, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of the RDP Job Work Site, a dedicated space designed exclusively to support the IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) community in their journey toward independence and meaningful employment. This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting awareness and creating inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
The RDP Job Work Site will serve as a dynamic hub where IDD participants can gain essential knowledge and skills to prepare for work in their communities. Through both virtual and face-to-face interactions with our highly qualified and ACRE-trained job coaches and supported employment team, participants will receive personalized guidance and hands-on training to excel in the workplace. Our staff members hold certifications in supported employment and are deeply committed to ensuring every participant’s success.
We are also excited to offer workshops and job placements tailored to the unique strengths and abilities of the IDD population. By providing fair and competitive wages, we are setting the standard for equity and inclusion in the workforce. Our approach ensures that individuals with disabilities are valued as capable, productive members of their communities.
